Honestly this is the one situation where I have absolute sympathy for any MP, however much of a dick they are 90% of the time. Making excuses for death threats in a situation where an MP was literally murdered is no fucking joke.

Fucking hell
Just read comments under a BBC journalist’s tweet about Jo Swinson’s kid receiving threats. Someone is definitely going to be killed soon. This country is so utterly fucked up.

Already happened.

But yeah, I take your point. And there’ll be an outpouring of crocodile tears from some and then within a fortnight we’ll be right back to where we are now.

I for one think it’s great that for three days a week Piers Moron gets a few hours to spout his horseshit on TV (him and Susanna Reid is like a really unfunny version of Morbo and his co-anchor in Futurama)

@moderators could someone delete this post? I feel like the tone of the tweet involved was making light of a serious issue, which wasn’t my intent. Have deleted the original tweet as well

Good overview of the compulsory licensing of pharmaceuticals here: https://medicineslawandpolicy.org/2019/09/corbyns-compulsory-licenses-will-they-work/

(going to have a look at that Vertex/Argentina thing, because I’ve got a feeling that I know EXACTLY what fuck-up caused that situation because an old boss made the same mistake once)

And now I can mute that fucking Twitter thread I keep getting @'d in.

What did you think of @otherbloke’s comments?

I think it’s an oddly small c conservative take with hints of British exceptionalism. The UK would not be the first country to do something like this, so the “how would this work???” comments are quite telling.

I think we ought to start calculating the quality of life of pharmacists on the whole.

As an outsider/layman it struck me as a very typical response from someone who spends all their life within a certain sphere, and who thinks that saying, “But actually it doesn’t work like that,” is a satisfactory way to close out any debate, while lacking the curiosity to ask, “Does it have to work like that, and can we make it better?”

Yeah I think that’s a good take. I don’t want to speak to his professional experience (which, btw, is significantly more than mine) but this kind of policy stuff is not usually part of the job role, especially not in private practice.

What the utter fucking fuck!!! Stella Creasy asked about screened adverts promoting Joris in primary schools yesterday? Sounded a bit ott, but:

Listened to the interview with him on Today, and his thing about “calling the suspension of parliament to prevent scrutiny a coup is a bad too, guys” was unhelpful at best.

Presented without comment.

Saw that Geoffrey Cox on TV. His braying performance made my stomach churn. Can’t wait for the revolution lads.

I see Nicky Morgan is absolutely outraged by boris johnson again.

Dunno where we’d be without her dogged determined political principles keeping everything in check.

Had a cab driver last night who claimed he was a reluctant Remainer turned Leaver and when pushed as to why it boiled down to he’s outraged by the idea that Muslim families don’t like letting their kids marry non Muslims.
State of this country.

You really should be allowed to refuse to pay for taxis with racist drivers.
