Changing my usual “international football is good actually” stance for one match only, thanks

Ah the international break, everyone’s talking about it, no one can get enough of it, and we’ve all conveniently forgotten what happened in the relatively hollow spectacle of the Barclays as recently as yesterday. Roll on England vs Ireland! :lion::boom::shamrock:

I think we can all look back on the weekend’s action with a measure of satisfaction. Justice served at every juncture. Great entertainment, great respect, great process. Well done to one and all.

Do think if Rice had been sent off for that say in Euros final against Spain, the reaction from a lot of people would be very different

I do want to clear up one matter, however: Chelsea drew at home with Crystal Palace, where Nicolas Jackson missed a sitter in the 93rd minute. That may have gotten lost in the hubbub of yesterday, particularly as our resident Chelsea correspondent chose not to breathe a word about it.

I’d have written a letter to the ref saying well done

I’m sure François Letexier would’ve appreciated that

Football is cancelled

Everyone go home until the 14th September

Can’t even sell your ninth choice winger for £10m nowadays without people raising an eyebrow.

Watching yesterday’s highlights. It doesn’t get old. Love how they’ve added even more utter shit to their squad. Can’t wait to see how bad Ugarte is!
