Really enjoy Twelth Night. Same experience most times with Big Will - start watching, fail to tune in for about half an hour, begin to nod off, suddenly start to get invested before the intermission, have a drink whilst googling synopsis/reading programme to get caught up, all good from there.

Good source of teen comedy premises

Genuine opinion on Billy S is that I like the serious ones but think the daft ones are fucking stupid. Midsummer Night’s Dream is a piece of shit.

Who hasn’t?

Got the sillies I’m off out of this thread sorry everyone

Often feel like it takes an act at least for my brain to sync into the language so I could really do with like a b-play that ran before any Shakespeare to prime my brain so I don’t miss half the opening acts’ subtleties

Tiered ranking of plays contained in the First Folio:

GOD TIER

King Lear
Hamlet
Much Ado About Nothing

GREAT TIER

Othello
Henry V
Richard II
Henry IV Part II

GOOD TIER

Henry IV Part I
Merchant of Venice
A Midsummer Night’s Dream
Romeo & Juliet
Macbeth
The Tempest

FINE TIER

Julius Caesar
Anthony & Cleopatra
Richard III
The Winter’s Tale
The Taming of the Shrew
Measure for Measure
Twelfth Night
Henry VI Part II
Henry VI Part III

POOR TIER

As You Like It
All’s Well That Ends Well
The Comedy of Errors
Titus Andronicus
Coriolanus
Cymbeline
Henry VI Part I

SHIT TIER

The Two Gentlemen of Verona
The Merry Wives of Windsor
Love’s Labour’s Lost
King John
Henry VIII
Troilus and Cressida
Timon of Athens

NB: Two Noble Kinsman would go in shit tier, Pericles would go in Fine Tier.

That’s the wonderful thing about R&J, it essentially is a comedy until the death of Mercutio, and even the ending plays out as a black mirror version of how a comedy should go.

Measure for Measure is shiiiiit.

There’s a new (apparently really shit) film she was in earlier this year. Unrelated to your actual Serenity
