This is all just wrong tbh. The decision on ‘which one is going to be doing the rounds’ is based on WHO recommendations & research on which four to include. Occasionally they get it wrong as happened a couple of years ago when the strain either evolved or wasn’t matched well.
Indications from the southern hemisphere so far this year are that it’s a good match and as there’s no likely harm from getting the vaccine unless you have an egg allergy, it’s the best protection at a personal, family and population level. Effectiveness was calculated at over 50% last year (so not incredibly ineffective) and it’s mainly marketed by NHS bodies, not big pharma as it’s part of a national campaign.
‘Unchecked immigration’ has seen some cases of TB, but mainly limited to the families of those who have come from high risk countries as it takes a while to become infected. Unlikely to cause an outbreak here at any serious level any time soon. Measles is a completely different issue with the outbreak caused by that nonsense autism link scaremongering reducing immunisation rates back in the 90s. Most mumps is likely linked to the Measles issue with the junk science belief that single rather than combined vaccines would prevent the kids getting autism from them. I’m not sure why polio is on your list as it’s been completely eradicated in the UK and most of the world.
