Which is why it’s a sit down theatre show like the Barbican one a few years back and not a standard gig venue.

Good to hear about your sympathetic boss. And yeah, it definitely helps to have all your finances sorted out and stuff that can add stress

Yeah I have, as of today, moved the beans from the fridge to the cupboard.

My next upgrade will probably be a proper burr grinder.

Maybe we’ll try moving the coffee out of the fridge then. Hmm…

I would have no idea when to use a hyphen except to reduce the word count

I assume Carmen means to allow you to split a word over two lines. Not that I think this is something I ever needed to do in adult life, but I now recall it being a ‘thing’ when writing at school.

Glad you didn’t use the

faffing about with coffee at home: fine
faffing about with coffee in the office: not worth it

It’s more to do with things like compound adjectives e.g. “industry-related” rather than “industry related”. It’s not really an issue for most people but I’d expect people doing a language exam in a language MA to know how to use them

Tanoy brand name.

Or indeed the broken website.

That Barbican show was good, good vibraphone usage

Oh right. I’m actually interested there’s a rule for that, but then maybe it’s something I just do without being able to explain how I know it’s right (like having issues with people using ‘lay’ where I know the word is ‘lie’ but obviously it’s become correct now via language evolution).

Yeah it was great, I’m hoping for good things tonight!

Here’s set times if anyone’s interested:
Doors - 18.30
Miwi La Lupa - 19.30
Phoebe Bridgers - 20.00
Conor Oberst – 20.50 – 22.50

I don’t know if this is right actually.

Yeah there’s a lot of language rules that native English speakers just automatically know, which I guess is why we don’t really get taught much English grammar at school (I did a TEFL course a few years ago and it was the first time any of us got to learn about English grammar). As I say, not really a problem for people writing on the internet etc. and yeah language evolves, but if you’re a professional writer (this includes translators) you need to get your grammar and punctuation right.

If it comes before the noun, it needs a hyphen. Depending on the adjective it might not need one if it’s after the noun
