It’s back.
Honestly feels a bit lame to just give us one episode of S3, especially when you’re going to use a cliché like forced memory loss to retard the story progression alongside splitting time with the ‘contemporary’ timeline. That said, I normally find flashback stuff frustrating but this was working well. Also Bernard being ‘dead’ but you made us sit through the credits and Tim Robbins was right there so I guess he’s alive.
Still can’t get over how goofy the US way of saying Bernard is.
Feel like I’ve forgotten everything that’s happened so instead of relying on a recap going to binge watch it all. Three episodes down so far, Rebecca Ferguson is so good

One of the few film/series is better than book examples. Imo.
All up to date now, great show although continue to feel bad about never getting around to the book before starting.
Read Wool (it’s the best). Hopefully the TV series will cover the best of the rest.
As for season 3, it feels a bit lifeless at the moment. It’s kind of depressing watching Rebecca Ferguson having to play Juliette as some sort of timid waif because of Amnesia Macguffin™.
Wool was great, but I can’t remember if I read the others. Was the send one about the setting up of the Silk and stuff? No idea about the third…
Shift is mainly the plot line they’ve introduced with Donald in series 3. Dust (the third one) is about 50/50 that plot line and the continuation of Juliette’s story.
Kinda strikes me that they’ve introduced the memory loss so they can hold off progressing her story until the Donald line catches up
Ah, I remember hardly anything of the other books apart from that I was very, very disappointed.
Glad it’s back, not sure about the flashback stuff though. Not everything needs explaining.
Finished the first season last night. Felt like it was a little slow to get going but loved where it ended up. So many real world parallels to chew on as well.
Finished the latest EP (S3 E7) in a mini binge with E6.
This season seems to be very variable with pacing: a few great chunks and then it seems like they haven’t much story and are treading water. I think it’s probably mostly about the past (our time?) storyline. We just had 2 episodes mostly taken up with fairly uninteresting back story snippets over the two of them travelling.
One thing I found really goofy in S1 was this idea a trip to the bottom of the Silo would take a whole day. Now we have people covering a hundred floors in minutes! Anyway, it feels like it’s building so hopefully some big stuff in the finalé.
yeah the memory loss stuff and the present-day stuff (interesting enough but feels like a completely different show) are really dragging the momentum.
we’re three seasons in and only the first one really dealt with getting to the bottom (ho ho) of what the whole Silo set-up is all about. then it was a whole season of “i am off on another side-quest”, and another whole season of “I forgot everything I learnt last season, and also here is a political thriller that took place hundreds of years earlier, for some reason”
I think they said it ends with S4 so I do reckon there must be a lot more meat coming in the next three eps.
Did enjoy last week’s although not sure I’ll get a chance to watch Episode 9 tonight, sadly. Hopefully tomorrow night otherwise.

You they’d already firmly completed S4 before they released S3?! I thought maybe the lead time was effects but they pushed S2 out about 6 months after completing filming, back in 2024 so why the delay?
Hopefully it’s because they thought there could be stuff to put back into this season to allow S4 to have a good wrap up, meaning they’re really pushing to get it right.

It’s mostly VFX - S1 and S2 both needed about 8 months each because there’s a lot more effect work than it seems - they didn’t build much of the staircase above/below the single practical floor. S3 took longer because there’s more locations and senior staff would have still be focused on the production stage of S4.
Ah did wonder if it might be location stuff. Obviously I’ll allow up to 6 months for specific scheduling needs in terms of content yo pull people in so maybe it’s not much different really.
The latest episode is excellent, really been enjoying this series.
Finally saw it (S3 E9) and yeah some good stuff there. Do you think splitting them before the attack hit so they were in different silos was pure spite or was there some actual reason. The spite angle would make sense if they’re making Colin Hanks’ guy into a Musk-a-like although I guess if this stuff is in one of the books maybe it’s a tragic accident there?
