was anyone here during the alt.tv.simpsons (or whatever) days? Was it ever as negative as the Simpsons Archive reviews suggest? It’s really weird looking at reviews for what I assumed were near-instant classics and having them ripped apart by some posters.

I wasn’t, but the AV Club reviewed the classic serieses a few years ago, and someone would repost comments/reviews from snpp.com at the time, and they were all very awful. And if they decided to make 15 years of shite episodes just to annoy these people it’s very understandable.
