Still going, they’ve just gone off for 5 minutes probably for a piss/checking the United score
Finished with LYF and the longest Heavy Pop there’s probably ever been (and it properly went off for it). New stuff, if you were being kind isn’t there yet and needs work, but they were also genuinely quite rusty a 3 night stand should knock em into shape. No Spitting Blood or We Bros. The old stuff genuinely still has that brilliance, the new stuff I don’t know.
I thought the 1st time I heard the original version of Cave Song I thought of the Waterboys the new stuff wears that influence massively on its sleeve, plus the drummer wearing a Waterboys t shirt and most of the playlist before was Fisherman’s Blues makes it’s even more obvious.
Main issue if you are going get to the front or you’ll see the sum total of fuck all.

I went last night!
It was pretty great! New stuff does sound like a WIP still, but some amazing moments in certain songs. We got a LYF, Heavy Pop and We Bros encore which was pretty magical. Horse Hospital has quite bad sightlines, so something to bear in mind where you position yourself!
Ellery is still the most eye-roll inducing person in music too and hasn’t changed in 13 years, which was reassuring. There was a quite on the nose one about apologising and wanting to “start from the beginning again” which was sweet, as well as a good one called “Tib St Tabernacle” lol.

It was indeed great.
I had a big grin on my face from the start.
Thought some of new songs sounded great. Some a bit Springsteen. Tib street went on for about 12 minutes, which meant we lost We Bros.
Crowd were also super up for it, which led the whole place becoming one giant sauna.

They wanted to play FC United Easter weekend but a band was already booked so they were turned down.
