Whoa am I a positive hex for once?

colli fy wig

Ref has had an unenviable task this match. I’ve also learnt a lot about the rules!

Fuck.

Thank goodness for that. Wales were unbelievably cynical in the last 10 minutes there

Aargh!

Taking a leaf out of Scotland’s book - talk about snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

Fair play to France though, they came alive after the red card.

Really don’t think they were at all, particularly being two players down. Incredibly tense game throughout tbh

They were 2 players down because they were playing so cynically!

Edit: they even should have had a third off

The stuff that the ref let go in that last 20 minutes was nuts considering the number of penalties he did give against Wales.

The French Red card was the result of them having to clear out a ruck in extremis with Welsh players in at the side and off their feet, on the a penalty advantage for other offences.

This was the most disappointing thing looking at it dispassionately, the lack of discipline at the end. You’re right that Wyn Jones would’ve had a yellow card if the other two hadn’t been binned already.

Ah, well. Just have to hope Scotland do us a favour next we… actually what am I saying.

Huge LOLS at Matt Dawsons column today talking about how the weekends events will haunt Wales for years. Then this nugget about England.

“Look what they did to France when they [beat them in the fourth round] and look what France are doing generally. England are at that level”

No they’r not. Don’t kid yourself. Back to Question of Sport you go…

“Remember that time we almost fluked the Grand Slam after being bang average for most of the games? I’ll simply never get over it”

That England chat is disgraceful  They’re exactly in the table position they deserve to be in.

The standard of Rugby analysis and punditry in major publications is very poor tbh, lots of ex-players who played at high levels seem to have ridiculous blind spots. On the flipside, the good ones who know what they’re talking about get bogged down in the minutiae and can produce 1500 words about one lineout. Really hard to get an objective, big picture view

Bang average no, not at our best - yes.

“Most of the tournament” is maybe an overstatement but definitely were vs Ireland and Scotland, maybe vs England too

maybe, shows how bad England have been I guess. I had to laugh at Sir Clive saying France were the first decent team England had faced. Such a tool that man.

Yeah beating and finishing ahead of England has been the one bright spot in an otherwise frustrating campaign for Scotland. And England have been easily the worst team outside of Italy.

What’s your opinion on Pivac? For the first 2 games everyone I spoke to seemed to think he wasnt cut out for the job, then he nearly went and won the grand slam but now they collapsed in the last 10 minutes so it’s hard to know what people think?
