Apparently it makes the Silent loads better

Started a new run with the Silent on the back of this thread. Started using more poison. Got to the last boss on the third level (time guy?) and he got me ffs. Thought I had it.

IIRC he can purge all poison which is a bit of a sod

I really struggle to keep tabs on all the buffs and effects and stuff, especially when there’s half a dozen going on at once… Not even sure how much damage poison does, but yeah I noticed in one round he suddenly wasn’t poisoned, and I didn’t have enough block to fend him off.

How long is a run for most people? I enjoy the game when I play it but finding it hard to fit in to when I game, I often usually only have an hour which isn’t long enough for a whole run (unless I flame out), so it’s not super satisfying. I struggle to pick it up for 20 minutes like Picross or something, which would be great as it’s a good game for being focussed and relaxing.

Most successful runs for me are between 60 and 90 minutes I’d say.

My average run time is probably around 40 minutes. Act 2 can get fuuuucked.

About half an hour for me. It gets much quicker when you know the enemies and what they do, and are generally familiar with the available cards and relics.

Wow, that sounds super quick, I think yesterday’s failure was almost two hours.

Have you gone into the options and turned the animations (or something, not sure of the wording) to fast?

The +1 generic energy trinket that you tend to go for:

  • Stone. I scoff at enemies doing anything with a mere +1 Strength! Scoff I say!
  • Key. I can resist the temptation of chests
  • Crown. Who needs more cards anyway
  • Hammer. Who needs to upgrade cards anyway
  • Coffee. Who needs to sleep anyway
  • Sozu. I don’t know what that is but I don’t need potions either
  • Choker. You can do a lot with 6 cards
  • Dome. I can perfectly predict what enemies are going to do because I’m just that good

Yeah but it totally depends! Choker is terrible in Silent if you’re going into Shiv but really good in Ironclad if you’re going for 2+ cost cards, etc etc etc

Reckon Choker’s always a terrible choice tbh. Only makes sense if you’re playing a seeded run and you know the dickhead with the watch is the last boss.

Used to be Sozu by default but then they buffed potions.

Stone fucks you in early act 2 if you hit the birds or if you’re going for a Heart kill
Key can be OK.
Crown- a trap unless your deck is already perfect.
Hammer- maybe if you have Apotheosis or loads of already upgraded cards
Coffee- depends on what relics and cards you have. Can work with Ironclad or Defect.
Sozu- depends on your relics
Choker- often more limiting than you think
Dome- doable if you’re super experienced but really fucking hard to pull off. Can work with an ironclad or defect block/frost deck.

It’s really good in Big Ironclad decks. Gets better if you have the card that plays the top card of your deck (Madness?). Gets better if you’ve got anything that plays the same card twice. Becomes completely unplayable if you go for Corruption.

I finally beat ascension lv20 with this very subtle deck. Wish I hadn’t pursued it with the silent because there really is only one type of deck that is viable at the higher levels. Was still fun spawning time twat as the second final boss and beating it in one turn though.EpCBV4LVQAAE5QC
