Small ways you bring yourself joy (rolling)

Collecting little trinkets, buying a little treat, going for a walk when it’s sunny mostly

One thing I’m doing at work though that brings me joy is writing the repulsive things kids say onto a draft email to the head with their words written out for them to see. The horror on their faces always makes me laugh. Serves them right though, I never send the drafts but just to let you know the kind of shite they say, the last email was:

Deae (headteacher)
I am devastated to inform you of the conversation I’ve heard (student) and (student) engage in during lesson just now. (Student) has said, and I quote, “I’ll clap your aunty’s cheeks after school”.

Kind regards,
(me)

Read in bed every morning. Sorry, childless privilege, but I start every morning reading in bed with a coffee

I put my PJs and dressing gown on the towel rail in the bathroom so they’re nice and warm when I change into them

Playing ‘sweet freedom’ to motivate myself to work each morning. The video is a bonus treat. Give it a go

Watching an episode of Columbo in the evenings. It’s the ultimate in undemanding and soothing TV murder mystery.

You know who did it.
You know how and why they did it.
You know how they are going to be caught (dogged persistence and affability by Columbo)

Plus lots of 70s interiors (wood panelled fridges!) and guest stars (Leonard Nimoy!)

Join, we still have a few good albums to go before the decline hits

Have you experienced the joy of Poker Face?

Lavender room spray/pillow spray for the bedroom when I come in to sleep of a night

Nope. Should I?

It’s basically the spirit of Columbo and truly wonderful imo.
