does it always happen (after youve hit the metal ball thing and gone all silver), or is it a random critical hit??

Depends on the rules. In regular smash it will be the smash ball. In World of Light a meter builds up under you character icon.

Got to a Dr Mario level in world of light and it is impossible, he has a team of snakes with 2 lives behind him and its doing my nut in

Had my first go at this today. What the living Fuck is going on?

How do you tell if you’re winning or losing? It normally comes as a total surprise. I can see a percentage thing under each character but no idea how this corresponds to winning…

Oh and one other thing… Why the fuck is the jump button in a different place to literally every other game ever? Arrgh.

the higher the %, the more difficult it is to get back onto the stage.

APART FROM stamina mode, where you start with a set HP and the objective is to deplete HP, like a traditional fighting game.

And getting off by stage, by fall or KO etc is a minus point, knocking someone else out is a plus and the balance of that at the end is what decides the win. Loosely speaking.

I do love it - but find it odd that for a Nintendo IP they just assume everyone has been playing since n64, and/or has been watching YT guides on this for the past 18 months.

just a basic tutorial would be fine, it’s not as if they’ve skimped on any other content.
