Some thoughts from playing this almost all of today.

  1. I really don’t understand the spirits thing. I just let it choose them for me every fight. Will this end terribly?

  2. I think I’m awful with anyone that isn’t Kirby. Just fall off all the time, and with Kirby I can recover, but anyone else that’s bye bye. Probably should get into training.

  3. It’s really fun

I improved quite a bit once I mapped jump to the B button and disabled jump with the stick to be honest.

Right I’m off. Did classic mode with Mario, failed to beat sonic challenge. Its fun but at the moment I’m so shit. Not sure I even like Mario, my brief time with donkey long seems better. I need practise…

Disabling jump with the stock could be a good idea. Otherwise I can see me jumping a lot unintentionally

yeah the ace and legend ones are ridiculously tough, maybe I’ll pick up a few easy ones in the world of light that might help. I’m trying to resist my urge to collect everything as I suspect in this game it’ll be a task beyond me

hadn’t realized how bad online matchmaking was before tonight since I was playing couch multiplayer all weekend.

jesus christ. maybe the worst of any game I’ve played. just get thrown into 4 player baby bowser fights on stage hazard maps despite setting a preference for 1v1 battlefield

I watched a beginners guide and within the first 3 minutes it was all ‘game runs at 60fps and a jump takes 3frames to initiate, its very important you know this’.

Well mate, I’m sure it is vitally important, however I haven’t worked out how to properly navigate the menu screens yet and I’ve played for about 6 hours…

If you sit at the menu screen for a bit without doing anything, a basics total tutorial video thing starts. That helped me figure out which buttons to press.

Also as above what do the primary spirits do??? The ones that have ‘no trait’ what’s the point?
What’s the weird stat points they seem to have all about?
I have one that says something like ‘increases fire damage weakness’, what the hell does that mean? It makes me weaker??

Dunno m8, all the spirits stuff looks like nonsense to me that the Real Players™ will be turning off anyway (@profk pls confirm) so I’ve been letting those be autopicked, unless its one that lets you start with an item, because I’ve also decided that items are for noobs (@profk again pls) and I will NOT be sullying myself with them.
