I always just press y to get recommended spirits. Buy some of the better spirits from the shops and in Spirit Board.
You can unlock characters and get great practice in via classic mode too.

Apart from the abilities eg ‘extra fire damage’ or whatevs, what makes a better spirit? Still don’t know what the ones with ‘no trait’ do

Think I’m in a similar position to you. Have cleared most of the easy stuff, but everywhere I want to go now, my way is blocked by someone I just get whipped by .

Think they just up your overall strength level. You can train cards to be of a certain type at dojos so probably use those Spirit cards there?
I just use the auto choice and pick the one that gives the best strength and support Spirit buffs.

When you beat a master spirit it’ll be at a dojo (little house it’s been guard g) at some you can level up spirits or change their speciality.
Yes use those skills ASAP!

So to beat the master spirit I need to beat the master spirit to unlock the thing that helps against the master spirit :wink::grin:

Kirby really seems to be the way forward for beginners. I’m certainly finding that. Can be getting beaten easily, but one lucky swing of the hammer and you’re a winner. Really trying to wean myself off him, but frustration at losing with anyone else means I keep going back.

One thing I did do last night was beat the Dr Mario and snake army with all the bombs(Ace, I think), and celebrated so wildly when I finally beat it I was told to turn it off and not to play anymore that evening
