U can also use direction plus block to perform an air dodge a couple of times

Think this is advanced setting in the rules set. Most people have the score off because it adds to the drama of the game (also to make it harder to work out who’s first and gang up on then), but you can make scores visible.

Also don’t think anyone has said yet, but tilting up on the stick makes you jump too. Think hitting Y can sometimes be tricky if you’re also trying to do an attack because of where the two buttons are on the controller (unless you’ve got a gamecube controller)

I remember in Smash 64 being able to grab onto the ledge to prevent someone else from recovering… was a decent scumbag tactic. Now you can have multiple characters simultaneous ledge grab.

Or be Kirby and you get 6 floaty jumps!

Probably about 90% of the reason Kirby is my go-to.

How the bollocks do you actually summon a spirit

From main menu go Spirits - spirit board/ manage spirits and there’s a summon option.
There it will show you summons that are possible for you. N. B. You have to sacrifice spirits you already have to summon others.

And that summons them in battle? Cos I’m doing the world of light mode and I’ve selected them abd go into battles then have no idea how to make them show up

Yes I’m thick

They can’t be summoned, they just imbue your character with the various passive effects each one offers. You equip them beforehand and that’s it.

They aren’t physically represented/present in the fight (like assist trophies are).

@AQOS

What he said. All spirits are for stats only.
Think if there were 1000 or so physical characters in the game sakurai would be dead.

Riiiiight. I assumed you could cos some of the baddies have their mates with them.

I am so shit at this game

Aye as assist trophies though or just other playable characters in teams.
Take the easy fights and build yourself up.
You’ll get there in time.

Hello everybody I also play Smash Bros Ultimate on the Nintendo Switch.

I’d say I’m average to poor at it. Tend to Go with up special quite a lot if the character favours it, and a big old smash as soon as I can. Feel like I need to learn how to play properly. Started off playing through World of Light which was pretty good, but then had a dabble in Classic mode and realised the joy of repeatedly unlocking new characters, and trying everyone out. Think I’ve got around 50 unlocked.

Negative feedback: there are too many of these dudes from a game I’ve obviously never played who are all basically the same (Chrom, Marth, Ike, Roy, etc.). No further negative feedback.

Positive feedback: It’s great. I’ve been playing in on the telly, going to bed and taking the switch with me to play on the wee screen. Problems.

That would be Fire Emblem. This wasn’t such a problem when there were just a couple of them, but the space could have been saved for a character who feels different to play such as Magikarp or Jorgi from Papers Please.

I would be quite up for some post pub smash bros tonight (and probably tomorrow too)

anyone in?

You sound line you’re WAY better at this than me. I’ve not unlocked thirty yet. I get “challenger approaching!” notification every second or third fight but I’ve totally lost the ability to beat them. Used to but nowadays they kick my arse.

Do these fights get harder progressively or have I got worse?

They get harder but theyve also recebtly patched it to make the ai easier

Thank goodness. I’m REALLY bad at this sort of thing. Bloody love smash though.

Is there a way to replay the challenger fights once you lose them?

Bottom rightcorner of the menu with classic mode on it.

Ooooooooooo thank you. Wish I’d brought my switch to the mother in laws now (although my neicephews would have snatched it off me and probably smashed it permanently)
