I was in Tilden Park’s Junior Rangers program and this stuff grows up in the hills. The rangers in charge showed us how to find and prepare it, which they did by the ol’ “Bread it, butter it, fry it” method. It smelled so damn good.

It was so bitter that food tasted off for all the next day. One of the worst foods I’ve ever eaten and my dad once made me eat okra.
