Yeah but she’s still picking an activity that’s just you, and pushing for it quickly. If it was just friendship it would be more like “oh it would be nice to have a catchup, would you and your wife like to go for a drink/meal some time?” and make sure there was a slight distance and casualness to it

Like maybe I’m more het up about keeping appropriate interpersonal boundaries and responding to unspoken undercurrents than a lot of people, but it all seems way inappropriate on her part to me.

I completely agree with you, as does my wife. We’re both quite laid back about this kind of thing but eyebrows were raised I can tell you.

There’s a certain kind of person who I dislike intensely who feels that their only power comes from making people fancy them, and do lots of small-scale inappropriate stuff like that to feel wanted/get their ego boosted, even (especially?) when they actually have no intention of getting involved.

I haven’t been drunk for a while but the other night my daughter forced me to spin round and round with her a lot. And then asked for a drink of water.

As I wove my dizzy way toward the kitchen I realised being that off-balance and clutching at the walls is definitely just as shit when you’re sober.
