Donât think Iâll forget either of those semis in a hurry. The Wilson/McGill one was insane (but it was never in doubt either, like I said). Wasnât a fan of Selbyâs post-match interview either. I know you shouldnât really have to do an interview straight after a match but heâs done enough of them. OâSullivan can play his shots however he likes and itâs not as if Selby doesnât do his own gamesmanship at times either (deliberate slow play or playing on when 4 snookers are needed etc.) Sour grapes Iâm afraid from someone whoâs usually very gracious. A shame.
Final was a washout - Wilson just wasnât good enough in 2 of the 3 sessions. Plenty to work for him to do but heâll be back - he played excellently for most of the tournament. But it meant we all got to bed at a sensible time so thatâs a bonus.
Just had a recap of OâSullivanâs route to the final. He had to beat Ding, Mark Williams and Mark Selby. Now to do all that to lift the title, that ainât bad going. And he wasnât even at his best in any of those games. What a sportsman.
