I think musically it sounds a bit like the backing tracks on 1989 - no bad thing in my eyes. Some of the tracks remind me of The Smiths as well - again, a plus point!
Truly abysmal music journalism.
Quite liked his chat with Maron this week, probably havenāt listened to Ryan Adams in about 10 years and now really, really in the mood to delve back in.
That was one of the most informative interviews of his I have heard. He is a good plumber! Amazing scenes.
Anyway, album is out today, which is cracking news.
I should add: where are these bloody tour dates. Presume held up whilst festival appearances get announced, but getting bored now. And I guess they will be in autumn now too, rather than spring. Annoying.
Maron seems to be pretty good at getting the best out of folk in these long form interviews. Must just make them feel relaxed enough to open up about whole load of stuff.
hmm I should give this a go even though I find Maron excruciating to listen to (only managed to get through Jeff Tweedy and Bruce Springsteen before through sheer love of those two guys)
Had honestly never heard of him before someone sent me a link for the DRA interview. Now hooked. Listened to a cracking Louis CK one this morning.
I hadnāt heard of him before my mate sent me the Jeff Tweedy one, he did give me a bit of a heads up but I was genuinely amazed at how much of an insufferable bellend he is
fair play though!
8 Sept: @UlsterHall 9 Sept: @CorkOperaHouse 11 Sept: @olympiatheatre

Manchester Apollo - Sep 14 Edinburgh Usher Hall - 15th Gateshead Sage - 17th Leeds O2 Academy - 18th London Royal Albert Hall - 22nd
gonna try and get RAH tickets but will probably be a nightmare
Oh man these stink. No midlands? no south west? No wales?
I reckon of the lot though, weekend in Cork is the winner, surely?
Yeah, not best pleased. Just moved from London to Cardiff recently so was hoping for a Bristol date at least.
is there a presale code kicking about? iām on the mailing list but havenāt seen anything yet
He hasnāt played here (Bristol) for about ten years. Cardiff for probably 8?
Anyway my ālets go to Cork emailsā are flying out as we speak.
Aw man, when do these go on sale? Just bought Slowdive and Nick Cave tickets this morning. My bank account is lying on the deck covering its face with itās hands and whimpering āplease, no moreā right now!
If you can find the William Friedkin one, itās outstanding. Pretty long but one of the best long form interviews Iāve ever heard.
All the money in the world for Sept 16th to be plugged with a midlands, south west, or south wales gig. Unlikely, but, you know.
