Fuming at this. Gives all manner of wankers the knowledge that gays are a legitimate target here

shouldn’t they have to agree to any words on the cake that aren’t abusive or advocating violence?

The shop owners are clearly bellends but I agree with the ruling. If I ran a cake shop and someone came in with a request that said ‘stop abortion’ or ‘gays are twats’ I’d refuse to make the cake.

I’d make the cake. But they’d regret eating it.

If she’s associated with these folks it’s apt!

Don’t eat at little wing either, all their dough is from Ashers

Still can’t get over that @eltham doesn’t thank greggs for cakes he gets from them. Disgusting behaviour imo.

To be fair he doesn’t sound particularly nice.

And notorious homophobe.

At times like these I feel the need to check on the views of the Daily Mail readers…

I think that on the facts of the case that this is the correct decision.

However, it does open the door to all kinds of discrimination cases where a business can plausibly deny that they are being bigots by disguising it as something else.

One thing that I’m not certain of in this case was whether the cake request was genuine or a stunt designed to make a point.

The bloke should probably just have tried a different bakery, tbh.

Not sure if this will ever be confirmed.
