I have a theory that the denoument of a dream never happens, that your dream thinks oh this is getting good and pauses or goes on a tangent to stall until something happens to wake you up.

my worst dream ever is one where I fell off a cliff in the first few minutes (trying to save a Princess from a dragon like a true fantasy-bro) and then spent the entirety of the dream just … falling. That was it, just falling and screaming and crying and then I woke up before I even hit the ground :man_shrugging:

though i’ve heard you can’t die in your own dream, and I’ve definitely had one where I accidentally crashed through a window when diving to save a shot in a football game at school, decapitated myself, and spent the rest of the dream floating round as a ghost seeing how upset/not fussed people were by my death
