:musical_note: When the moon hits the ice, and its state’s a surprise that’s… amorphous.

Yknow, I hadn’t even begun to think about ice and steams when I started this thread.
Thought I knew a little bit, but I know NOTHING.
I could name maybe… three types of ice? Cubed, crushed and sculpture

OF COURSE. How could I forget dry.

Ever lobbed chunks of dry ice into a bucket of lukewarm water? Great fun

I don’t think I’ve ever been within touching distance of dry ice, which is upsetting, because it means I’m unable to live out my 80s pop video fantasies. I’m just standing in my living room wearing leather trousers like an idiot.

They use oil fired gas guns these days, probably would have done then too I reckon

I have spent a lot of time in the company of dry ice and yes my favourite trick was to use it as a smoke machine effect when I was done. Other favourite things to do was pouring liquid nitrogen on the floor. I was a terrible scientist.

Just reminded me, when I worked in labs and was going away camping for the weekend I’d take polystyrene boxes of dry ice home on a Friday night and hey presto you’ve got a mini fridge and drinks cooler than you can chuck away at the end

This has reminded me that I accidentally left my water bottle in the van last night. Wondered why I was so thirsty.

Better pop down and get it

Could they, hear me out, put loads of potatoes in the sea to suck up the salt to make it drinkable??

We need expert testimony here, I call former ice sculptor @Ruffers to the stand.
