Can people stop comparing Feeder to Smushing Pampkins please? SP were good.

Carrie Brownstein is a writer for Portlandia. Don’t think she’s actually from Portland though

They were so heavily influenced by SP at the beginning though, you can’t really discount it

The only good thing about Feeder was that Feeder.com fetish site was forced to put a disclaimer landing page up suggesting you probably wanted feeder.net or whatever :joy:

I know this thread has moved into a “Remember Feeder?” thread. And I remember Feeder. Hey, they were pretty good up until that “eeee-ooooo eeee-oooo” song that sounded like Keane and was on every single football highlights video ever.

Regarding the chords, the chords of High are, I believe, basically the same as Wonderwall with one chord removed (I think. I’m more of a drums guy). Not only is it a pretty generic progression, it’s based on one of the first things anyone who started learning guitar in the 90s can play.

So maybe Soccer Mommy based this song off an even more dubious source…

Let’s be honest, it’s hardly gonna become a ‘remember Soccer Mommy’ thread

Prefer the Phonics to everyone else on your list tbh

As long as we’re remembering things, remember back at Barden’s Boudoir when I borrowed some drum sticks off you once because I’d forgotten to bring any?

My god, that was…well, certainly something that happened, and I can remember.

Used to really like Feeder. Not listened to them for at least 10 years. Gonna stick an album on in the car going home and be massively disappointed.

Nah, you’ll be pleasantly surprised by their crunchyness

Saw them at a second tier regional festival (which seems to be their bread and butter now) last year and it was fun as hell. A load of really great songs, no nonsense, perfect sunny mid afternoon band.
