Certainly this could be read as a wry bit of piss-taking that will allow the process of healing his nation needs to begin. Rather than, say, a desperate plea to be sacked as soon as possible.

He does have a weird obsession with the height of teams at international level, it’s not the first time he’s went on about it and how it affects his team selection.

FIFA should probably implement some kind of mandatory average height of the starting lineup or something, it’s clearly an area of the game that needs to be addressed.

He’s got previous for this sort of ‘can’t you take a joke?’ nonsense really so no idea if he’s trying to get the boot or not. It seemed nailed on a few months ago but given that, with the Nations League stuff next year the next qualifying campaign doesn’t start until 2019 and there’s no obvious replacements he may be stuck there for a while yet.

It doesn’t matter we are shite anyway

Glad Costa Rica got through. Great country of lads. Just looked at how they did in WC2014 and totally forgot they came top in a group containing Italy, Uruguay and England :joy:

My word.

Who actually are england’s second, third, fourth best strikers though?

getting above vardy and defoe is not an insurmountable climb for a giant of the game like crouchy

Some serious melt-downing going on this morning in Scotland along the lines of “WHY ARE WE SO SHITE”

It is a relevant question but it’s also inherently funny

Genuinely do think Strachan’s on the wind-up given he generally is. We conceded two goals (and the late one against England) from a lapse of organisation/concentration, nothing to do with height. We’d be into the play-offs if it wasn’t for this.
