Obviously that’s gonna be a popular opinion on here, but the truth is he’s been unspeakably bad for the last three or four games (that’s as far back as I can remember, maybe he was just as bad before then). Then he scores a goal at the end of each of them. That’s the pay-off with having Giroud up top, but if we had Sanchez there we’d have already scored at least another goal by that time. I’d even rather have Lucas there tbh, the problem being that we didn’t buy a wide player in the summer and are otherwise relying on Oxlade Chamberlain to be an actual footballer on a consistent basis.
That said he’s basically the ideal plan B, to come off the bench, for almost any team in the world. If he was 27-ish and played for a mid-table team in Spain or France he’d go for £40m at least to Chelsea or Utd or whatever.
