Definitely. Don’t drive so a gig that finishes early and is easy to get home from on public transport is very appealing. Presumably would have to be shorter than usual to save people’s voices but let’s face it even a 30 minute show would be pretty awesome right now.

20 quid per cars decent too if there’s a few people who live together/bubbling or whatever.

Actually this is the only one of these dos I’ve seen that’s appealed to me. Dinosaur Jr are an incredible live act, but a couple of their gigs I’ve thought I wish I had a big chair to sit in and nobody around me. I could just sit and let the noise wash over me and wallow in it, maybe with a nice cup of coffee. For me that’d be just like heaven

Yeah, maybe depressing wasn’t the right word tbf. I’d just end up feeling awkward and maybe a bit sorry for them if I was there. At least they’re putting on a show in a safe way.

got two gig tickets in october

  • will happen

Yeah it’s kind of a funny thing because sparse crowds usually say it’s not a well attended gig and the people there aren’t particularly bothered. It’s way difference than what as an audience member you’d feel like a good show is, and I imagine as a band it’s the audience reaction you’re used to not watching. It’s a change, and a lot of people are not going to want it. I don’t think I’d go to see most bands I’d normally want to see in this setup, but it just so happens that the vibe I get from Dinosaur Jr overlaps with this. I hope bands that do this management to get fulfilment, in both creative and money senses.

Lanes in Bristol has been doing 50 capacity events, selling tables in groups of four or six. Seem to have been working well so far.

Can you buy individual seats or do you have to buy tables? Imagine being lumbered with 5 unfilled seats at your table :joy:

Think the increase in cases/latest briefings will probably mean socially distanced gigs indoors probably don’t end up happening, or at least a lot of em

my mate played Brixton Windmill last night and actually got paid a very small amount

hopefully that means their model at the moment is sustainable
