I will be grateful for this day, I will be grateful for each day to come is a good look back on youth. Plus stuff on a collection of songs and letting off the happiness cos he was a teenager when they were written.

I like how goldmine gutted lyrics ‘Well I lagged behind, So you got ahead’ mirrors I will be grateful for this days ‘So you got ahead of me, And I guess I’m still dragging behind’. I think there are loads of bright eyes songs that really romanticise the past, but you just know at the time he probably hated it at the time

Yes, I was going to mention that one as well. Very nostalgic lyrics.

I hate the ‘so it’s 5 hours before 1998’ bit as I think what was I doing in 1998, listening to feeder, with a center parting wearing a fleece

The first two albums by Japandroids always sound a bit youthful and nostalgic at the same time to me.

“Twin Falls” by Built to Spill fits.

Yeah, ‘The Suburbs’ will always be the one for me. So many memories of sitting moodily at my grandparent’s house in the summer that it came out and getting sad about getting older while listening to songs about getting sad about getting older.

An awful lot of Death Cab deals with the past and growing up too.

This soundtracks one of my favourite skate video parts

Louie Barletta - Bag of Suck

Blidning shout - it was listening to Red House Painters (Roller\coaster) that made me so wistful I started the thread!

Ash 1977 is an album about being young, again cos they were teenagers when they made it.

Courting strong - Martha. They were were on great form last night in Leeds too.

I was going to recommend this one:

Could do with a new Martha album.
