Songs Subsequently Used As TV Themes

We had a few similar threads but this is specifically for tracks which have been used as TV-show’s main theme (not just in a scene) and wasn’t written specifically for that purpose.

E.g.

Fever Ray - If I Had A Heart (Vikings)
Portishead - Sour Times (The Vice)
Oasis - Half The World Away (The Royle Family)

I still haven’t seen this show but really want to - great tune

I was about to say “anyone can fall in love” as the eastenders theme tune but I had a quick check and it turns out the lyrics were added AFTER it was the theme, and sung by a cast member (and reached # 4 in the uk charts).

So quite literally the opposite of what you’re asking for! You’re welcome!

Love’s The Castle was used as theme tune to The Holiday Programme back when it started

Later on they used Equinoxe 5

That’s all I’ve got

Wasn’t that Fleetwood Mac song used for F1 or something?

there’s an Irish drama series my mum watches that uses an acoustic piano version of this as the theme song (i think it’s called Smother?)

my mum was quite impressed by it

Bending the rules but I’ll allow it

This genuinely blew my mind when I saw her at Primavera and the chorus kicked in. Had no idea it was an actual song
