Banquet by Bloc Party is a pretty blatant rip from Gang of Four’s Damaged Goods.

This:

Is a blatant rip off of this:

Sussudio by Phil Collins. Blatant rip off of prince 1999. Both are bangers

Holy shit! Had not heard this. Surprised if Bernie hasn’t taken legal action

Bit of a stretch

Yeah it’s All My Friends hanging out with the verses to Clearest Blue, isn’t it?

Yeah? First time I heard Damaged Goods I instantly thought of Banquet (not going to pretend to be cool enough to have heard Gang of Four first). Maybe it’s just me though.

they definitely owe a massive debt to Gang of Four but i thought they were smart enough to avoid full-on plagiarism. Must listen to both songs again though

All I Want

Somebody’s Calling Me

There are similarities but I wouldn’t say enough to class as a ripoff.

Edit: pretty sure I heard Bloc Party before Gang of Four too

Maybe more of a riff on the theme than an outright rip-off

it’s funny though, in some ways building an entire sound off another band is perhaps more grievous than copying just one song/chord sequence.

Last Night by The Strokes - American Girl - Tom Petty. Both bangers.

The intro to this song sounds so much like the intro to New Noise by Refused

Intro is pretty much the same as…

The Fall Blindness / Roots Manuva Witness
Both bangers.

Nudeswirl lifting I Am One might be the most blatant one I’ve ever heard.

Nudeswirl - F#

The Smashing Pumpkins - I Am One
