Where I lived as a little kid, we used to quite regularly have sonic booms from RAF jets on training flights. Used to scare the shit out of me.

My Mam always likes repeating the story of when I once asked her ā€œare they called Harrier Jump Jets because they make you jump?ā€ 21 I was, etc.
