Looks like Sparks are going to be on the new Gorillaz album. Which is a nice new chapter in the wonderful weird world of Sparks.

Been going through their A to Z playlist on spotify (boo) over the last few months, somewhere around the letter T now. Still got plenty of love for them and its a great way of finding some hidden gems. The 80s stuff that is not as critically well regarded as the classic 70’s albums is still great fun with lots of strong songs. I have even enjoyed some of the tracks from Balls… Lil Beethoven / hello young lovers and exotic creatures was such a great late career comeback. Sparks forever!

Yeah, that was great. Even a brief power cut and a very harsh imposition of the curfew couldn’t dampen the enthusiasm.

Love them. Perhaps they’ll swing by Gloucester Services on their way to the Bristol gig.
Piano and voice only This Town… that I’ve never seen before nineteen minutes in. Also worth going to the end to see if Heart Of Glass can be reconstructed for slide guitar.
Going to try and do this as a listening project for September. Love them but I doubt I’ve heard even half their material.
I’ll try and remember to post on here every so often, if anyone fancies joining in? I think it’s technically meant for people to create art related to the topic each day, but seems like a good excuse to get some listening done.
