@jeffpistachiomagnum

Congratulations on a title so obscure I opened this thread to see what it was about

Not as good as the Ian Curtis original, but on the other hand Billy Corgan has famously ridden on a rollercoaster…

Still enjoyable.

Billy’s got some great Instagram stories today. It really is amazing how he’s been dehumanized to the point where it became acceptable for the media and fans to publicly attack his appearance (and even in recent times, where that’s considered totally unacceptable), and how overlooked it is that those things impact his mental health. It’s sort of an extension on what we discussed much earlier about how his depression and the abuse he suffered as a child have been constantly trivialized.

Yeah, following his Q&A makes it pretty clear to me he isn’t some hateful right-wing garbage person, which I’d feared he’d become after Infowars and the anti-Bernie Sanders nonsense. I think he genuinely wants good things for everyone, and is more on the stubbornly uninformed baby boomer side of the spectrum than anything actually malicious.

Same here, it’s been an exhausting four years.

He’s reverted to type today. Doesn’t like the ‘socialist’ Scandinavian tax system and blamed ‘soy boys’ (proper alt-right term that) for Zeitgeist’s poor reception. Oh yeah and he’s reaffirmed his belief that’s he’s encountered shape-shifting aliens. Cheers Bill

disappointing stuff

Yeah, he sounds like all of my former coworkers today. Or if you remove the alien thing, the typical 50 year old American moderate dad. We live in hell now.

I still think he means well but fundamentally doesn’t understand / is unwilling to think about cause and effect, like most people in the country. Kind of like how Missouri voted for all of the progressive initiatives but also voted for all of the Republican candidates who would ensure none would be enacted. Pretty ironic too how he snarkily dismisses someone trying to explain it to him, when that basically has been the media’s response to his defending himself after they spout bullshit about him.

He’s complaining about “the left” in one of his stories, my day is off to a fine start.

I’ve stopped looking at them because they’re just too much of a rollercoaster.

YAAAY he’s being nice and supportive to one of his trans fans

Let’s end this thread and all agree he’s a cunt. Easy.

This new tour seems to be a massive success, I’m really happy for him. The audience yesterday apparently was shouting back G.L.O.W. after Disarm, and even Netphoria was overwhelmingly saying he’s got it again. There seems to be a lot of positivity around the band right now, I’m really excited for the new album. I think it’s going to be great.

Think I’m going to buy a ticket to see them in Antwerp on Monday. Wouldn’t really have considered it but I noticed a couple of people put recent gigs by them in their all time top 3s, and a really good Pumpkins gig would be pretty special…

They played the cut that little child song in the pub last night. Reminded me of when we were kids and we’d make fun of those words.

Smashing pumpkins were alright I guess.

At least the best performance in a room where Terry Christian is anyway.
