can’t remember the details, but remember thinking the last series was fascist. things along those lines so far from the first couple of episodes this series… the suspect smashing the cop and his mum saying “you’re hurting him”. similarly, the boy trashing the judges office “don’t speak to my mum like that” when worst judge had said was “leave”. the baddies seen from a distance and basic, cartoonish baddy behaviour, calling the woman a “cocksucker” for no reason, rugby tackling a wheelchair user. not saying it’s as bad as I remember the last series, but plenty of time yet.

I’m really enjoying this series of Spiral. The thing I like most about it is that you can be watching it and thinking “oh no, now this thing is going to happen” and then the thing you thought was going to happen doesn’t happen. Basically it’s not predictable and shit.

Big fan of Gilou, he’s so meaty. Like Bob Carolgees crossed with The Joy of Sex.

There was one bad bit in the last two episodes, actually, when Ali tailed that guy to the internet cafe and took a picture on his phone from a distance of the guy’s computer screen and got a crystal clear shot of the codes he needed there was a fair old “fuck off!” at the telly in our house when that happened.

He’s great. I love how he’s such a bad/over the top winker too but does it all the time.

As a character he’s great.

If I went drinking with him twice, one time would be a great night out and the other a total shit show.

I guess that’s what makes him a great character.

Not yet! I’m about 3 behind. I always come to a standstill close the end of a season as I dont want it to end so put off watching it.

Will probably binge them on Monday.

I really liked the series. Good closing of loops and storylines. There’s obviously ups and downs with the various characters but you’ll enjoy final three episodes. Nice final scene on the final episode.

Love that they put the whole lot up there in one go. We’re watching episode 4 tonight.

Actually - my wife only started watching from series 5 and was wondering if she should go back and do the first 4. Not sure I can be bothered. Might let her go solo.

finally finished all 8 series, s1 is a bit rubbish (forgot about that weird zoom gimmick, glad they abandoned that) but after that it’s all great. didn’t realise until watching them all in row like this that they basically never properly solve a case :smiley:
