it’s noticeably slower when you click on an album…5 second wait at least. hopefully they’ll iron this out, what a mess though

Oh shit, also I don’t think you can save individual songs to your collection now? You have to do the whole album. Or if not it’s definitely become more complicated to do so.

Desktop spotify (which wasn’t updated yet, i refuse to) now gone haywire, can’t fast-forward a track or alter the volume in any way.

What the fuck.

I remember back when I used to have free Spotify, Professor Green’s ad about level crossings and he’d go “stop listening to my music”

and I’d say “I was listening to Tim Hecker”

Why do you refuse to update it?

This is the bit that’s bugging me the most. To see individual songs now you have to ‘follow’ the artist and the song will be in there. But within the individual artist menus you now have to scroll through every song, rather than just individual albums/tracks

It’s so unintuitive it’s crazy

see above

Yeah they changed that recently, but this is worse - now I don’t think you can even do that

OK i tried it again - i ‘liked’ the track and so it should be in my collection. But when i go into albums - which is what you used to do to find it - the album the track is from isn’t there. So where do you find it? Someone mentioned above that you have to go into ‘artists’ but ‘artists’ is now an absolute holy mess.
And for what it’s worth the artist isn’t in the Artist tab. So I saved a track but can’t find it in my collection.

Yeah and the reason that’s actually better is so that you can download the liked song without downloading an entire playlist, if your storage is limited.

Essentially, yes

The artists page is broken down into bands you “follow” and then bands who you have “liked” or saved songs/albums by. Total mess

Not the way I use it tbh. I’ll either add tracks to playlists and listen from there, or save entire albums. Saving individual tracks isn’t the way I use Spotify.

I generally download albums but it’s nice to be able to use it in different ways

Oh aye, definitely. Wasn’t aware that was a thing you could do. Could curate your own version of albums this way, if you were interested

haha probably there’s some workaround but it’s really irking me that they can create an update so bad

Maybe some disaffected musician has taken over, kamikaze-pilot style

Not overly fussed by the new update, apart from the aforementioned lag, but they’ve taken away the number of tracks from playlists on mobile, and now I have no idea how many tracks I have in them. Small annoyances

If you want to revert to an older version, pre-awful update, this works

Does anyone use Google Music? Bit stupid you can’t check the library without buying a subscription. I’m a bit over spotify at the moment tbh, and it looks like Idles’ Welcome EP has gone missing from the service

Not tried it but you get the first 30 days free
