David Davis?

6/1 for the next general election in 2018. Must be worth a punt.

Our MPs are the worst.

I am VERY angry that I decided to read all of that and not bail out early.

Haha. Terrible stuff, isn’t it?

I read it yesterday and my first thought was that any management company that has allowed

subsidence, rising damp and [the] leaking roof

to go unchecked, deserves to be booted out for failing to fulfill their obligations.

Reading back through the Guardian’s ‘Politics Live!’ from today…

… and from the tweets it quotes, it’s pretty clear that the country’s political journalists know nothing and haven’t learnt anything. Every one is an example of being blindly led into making statements by whichever unnamed source or spin doctor talked to them last.

So reading the text, it’s pretty clear to me that Davis lost this morning’s battle. Our chief negotiator can’t even win a negotiation with his own side, let along the other one.

UK government: We’d like all these things which are mutually exclusive when it comes to Brexit

EU:

Brexit

erm

The UK’s proposed “backstop” plan for trade with the EU after Brexit has been published after an “expected” end date - of 2021 - was included in it.

It followed crunch meetings between Prime Minister Theresa May and Brexit Secretary David Davis, who insisted a cut-off date be included.

The proposal would see the UK match EU trade tariffs temporarily in order to avoid a hard Irish border post-Brexit.

oh great, so we can…just…temporarily avoid a hard border…?

also i mean have they not already agreed the backstop without a time limit with the EU?

Yes, but they’re trying very hard to un-agree it to keep everyone in the Tory party happy.

Surprisingly, the EU don’t seem very interested. Can’t think why.
