That’s because it wasn’t finished yet. ROTJ feels quite different to me because the battle is being fought in three fronts, land battle to take down the shields, space battle to get to the Death Star, the psychological struggle between Luke/Vader/Emperor, the fact that it ends with the superficially similar moment of a Death Star blowing up doesn’t negate those differences, and really in a saga called Star Wars it is hard to avoid big space weapons playing a role. Back to whether a second Death Star would have made the empire unstoppable, I don’t think the fact they managed to blow it up means that wouldn’t have been the case, it was incomplete, the rebels were lured into a trap both in space and endor but tge emperor underestimated them, if the Death Star was complete it may have been different. I don’t think the phantom menace should be brought into discussion on ROTJ as it didn’t exist at the time (barely exists now)

The Phantom Menace will continue to exist long after the Force Awakens has been forgotten. I actually had to go and look up the name of the latter, it’s that forgettable. I will never forget Jar Jar Binks and YIPPEEEEEE, as much as I might wish for that.

I agree, much prefer the prequels to TFA

At least they give you plenty to talk about. I’ve nothing to say about TFA at all.

Too crisp but also it’s actually less good than a number of things I’ve seen pulling all the original 6 films into a clips stream :grimacing:

I already read about this. Rey Clone? Rey has a twin sister?

This is also where I tap out from trailers and promo material and quite possibly this thread until December

“I honestly listed everything I could think of. Even awful possibilities where I said, ‘This is not what we’re going to do.’ I mean the less silly one was, ‘Is she a clone?’ Anything that’s a theory on Reddit now I guarantee was listed on that document.”

Johnson hinting, or more evidence they were making it up as they went along

Rey is 100% a clone. Either of Luke or vader. It’s the only way she can have no parents and also be a skywalker and also have her force vision in TLJ make sense.
They’ve already mentioned clones in the new trilogy and it’s likely how the emperor returns. Hell maybe Reys a clone of the emperor even.

It’s clones all the way down!

Some cunt said it’d be a time travel plot.

I shuddered at this. Like, alternate universe stuff where Rey is the dark side. Or something.

The clone theory about Rey has been batted about before on the internet. Would be such a fucking cop out.

“1000 generations are in you”
“Your parents were nobody”
The hall of mirrors reveal in TLJ on Luke’s island

She’s obviously a clone and/or the result of some genetic ‘master race’ programming where, despite everything, the good in her triumphed over the evil and she was dumped on Jakku as she was faulty goods/rescued from her evil twin and grew up fending for herself yadda yadda

But it’s not as if there were any possible endings that wouldn’t have been an anticlimax
