As a child from the north, starters didn’t exist. And ‘afters’ was everything.

I probably still feel a bit like this. Two savoury courses, Jeremy? Two?

Starters are for the indecisive, desserts are another thing entirely and deservedly carve out their own mealtime real estate.

Big irk when someone gets a starter and then leaves a bit of the main unfinished

Starter and then a bag of Haribo on the way home please. Or maybe a yoghurt on the sofa later.

People unshackle your chains menus areas aren’t real.
You want 4 starters tapas style, go for it.
Dessert from somewhere different from your main, spread that consumer dollar.
Share 3 mains between 2 of you why the fuck not.
I’ll have some sides and a brownie please. Fuck yeah

Big into getting a starter as a side.

is cheese and biscuits a dessert or an EXTRA

Additional course

god darn it i want a jacket potato and cheese and biscuits. stat. not at the same time.

I like going with someone and sharing a starter and a pudding which somehow cancel each other out.

In the eyes of The Law you’ve just had a main, but you know; you can still taste that sticky toffee pudding, you know the truth, both of you, but no one else.
