Steak Thread

Couple of pubs round here do this. You end up filling the entire place with smoke.

Big fan of the wee cleavers you get at flat iron.

I am vegan but I used to like my steak very rare.

Fun fact: On holiday I was invited to a posh hosted dinner. No option for menu or dietary requirements so it was much fun when a big fat steak was plonked right in front of me.

Yes and it led to horrific food poisoning

The bacon of
 something.

An amazing steak is phenomenal, an average one is a massive disappointment

that is a lot of steak for 1 person

shouldn’t you have let the host know in advance, even if they didn’t ask?

100% not this

pretty boring i suppose, but there’s very little that beats a good steak

Great place.

Would also recommend Bo’vine on Byres Rd for the same thing.

Likes like everyone is about to join hands for a seance (why am I in a steak thread?)

It was a bit of a weird situation so I wasn’t able to really tell anyone prior to us going. We didn’t really know what to expect but we were all thinking it would be a chose from a small menu situation.

unless you’ve been to paraguay you;ve not tried Steak

the other place the guy from the butchershop owns in town, hutchesons, does a cracking steak too

we had a work dinner in bo’vine about 5 years back and it was rancid

sauce

  • peppercorn
  • bearnaise
  • bit o’ mustard
  • diane
  • chimichurri
  • ketchup
  • ALWAYS NOTHING
  • blue cheese

Would have voted for blue cheese if possible.

If I know it’s going to be an amazing steak, nothing. If it’s an OK steak then peppercorn, or maybe bĂ©arnaise.
