The bottom one has blown my mind a little as I consider in those early Simpsons episodes what the highest tech computer would have been and what a sort of midrange one would have been.

Basically I have no idea when that screenshot is from but if it was like a S2 or S3 episode then the computer is probably just a computer; if it’s from 5 seasons ago then the age of the computer is part of the joke.

Season 10 (Lisa Gets an A, one of the last truly great episodes), and the age of the computer is part of the joke - Gil is trying to sell this hunk of junk to the school (“let’s talk rustproofing, these Colecos will rust up on on you like that. Shut up Gil, close the deal!”), which has recently come into some money thanks to Lisa cheating on a test.
