Sad news - his Radio 1 show in the late 80s was a pivotal part of growing up. And in those days, his show was genuinely comical.
And he introduced me to the Jerky Boys…

Realy quite sad about this. They’re doing an amazing job on Radio 2 goven they seem to have found out the same time as everyone else.

Was the first DJ i properly loved listening to in the early 90, with his ‘Steve Wright in the Afternoon’ show (3-5:30)

Aww, that’s pretty shocking. Part of the furniture wasn’t he. Odd to imagine British radio without him.

Hah. That’s one for the things I haven’t thought about in (literally) decades thread.

Had it on a tape compilation for kids called Go Nuts. My honest answer to “first album you ever loved”.

Such sad news! A total legend and seemed like a really decent bloke.
