Bloody love Stockport. I live halfway between there and Manchester, and will always choose Stockport for pints. Magnet, Petersgate Tap, Baker’s Vaults, Project 53, The Railway, Ye Olde Vic. So many brilliant boozers. Real shame that The Crown is shut but hopefully not for long - I love drinking under the viaduct!

Where the light gets in is such a great restaurant. So is Baekdu. And underbank is ace too. Rare Mags feels like it’s the natural successor to Magma, now that’s closed in town. My only minor gripe is that SK1 Records always feels a bit cliquey and unfriendly.

There are even a couple of interesting things happening in merseyway. It’s mint!

Only been to Stockport once, for a job interview. Got the job, the job wasn’t in Stockport, I’ve never been back.

Edgeley Park is the football ground physically closest to the Mersey river. Handy fact for pub quizzes.

The new Everton ground will ruin that fact.
