I worked at a storage place briefly and at least half of the units were rented by people with small online businesses. Spent half my day signing for deliveries for the tory pricks.
Did people ever try and live in them or does the set up and security make that an impossibility?

A guy was in the news for doing this recently.
Didn’t encounter it, but you could get away with it. Some of the bigger units had their own alarms and entrances, etc. Sometimes staff would come in during the night to fulfill orders, etc.
