I enjoyed it a lot.

It felt a lot like they’d just played a lot of Left 4 Dead before they made it. Fine with me.

Also Mike seems to have become quite unlikeable. Like that whole bit where he was being rude to Hopper, swearing his tits off, generally being a prick? That got on my wick.

Episode 5 or 6 spoiler warning

Not a fan of the bit at the end when the evil russians comment about leaving the American in the cell. Felt like it was purely there so wankers can post epic, sprawling conspiracy theories about Hopper/the whole thing on Reddit. It’s a better show when it’s funnier and less serious. There are so many plot holes and stuff so I don’t like it when it’s supposed to be serious.

Ha I thought that too, especially the hospital under construction bit.

They’ve done that with the previous series as well, though, so it’s not exactly off-brand…

Yeah ok I just found it tiresome. Sometimes it’s better to just have an ending rather than endless PLOT TWIST!!! moments. Dunno if there’s another season or not but would have been more effective to just have Hopper dying a hero’s death. Just feels like theres never any closure especially with netflix stuff where it’s just setting up another season.

I can’t see any way there won’t be another season, but I think it was meant to be confirmation he was alive, as the Russians had been calling him “The American”, rather than a cryptic hint. Also I read that David Harbour has already confirmed this. They wouldn’t give him a definitive hero’s death as they would never kill him off, at this point anyway. But it is a bit tiresome as they did the same thing with Eleven.

Dr Brenner is the American hostage, not Hopper

Why aren’t more people talking about how good Steve’s hair is?!

can’t believe I saw a grauniad review slagging this off

like I’m still not finished but I’ve been really enjoying it so far. Properly feels like an old LucasArts adventure game (in a different way to how Twin Peaks: The Return did) – partly saying that bc there’s one bit reminded me of

Mike’s mother is way out of her husband’s league

Yeah I’d go as far to say season 3 of stranger things is a really good programme, in the past it had always been frustratingly ‘almost really good’

Just finished it last night, absolutely compelling viewing.

  • Steve is still one of the absolute best cast members
  • Good to see Eleven developing as a character
  • The Mind Flayers is genuinely terrifying as a villain
  • Plenty of genuinely funny moments
  • Erica is/was a great addition to the gang
  • Surprisingly gory? Not sure if it’s just me being a wimp but I found all the people dissolving into blood and sinew stuff quite grim.

This basically:

The rats scene near the beginning did me, but after that I was okay with it.

Some of Steve’s delivery was just hilarious… “…you saw the comms room?” was one line I remember laughing at a lot. Also amazing they had to wear the Scoops Ahoy outfits for the entire season.

Still thinking about Alexei walking over to Murray with his hot dogs. So well done to make a moment about two such minor characters so funny and sad at the same time.

That was a cracking season

Best one yet, right? Miles better than 2 at the very least

Like i think I was actually interested in the whole story this time instead of it just being a vehicle for the shorter term aspects I really like
