Lightning Bolt playing in a tree at an ATP festival that about 2,000 indie chumps reckon they were present in the audience for when only about 50 people were watching, I know this because I Waaasss Theeerrrrre

Just remembered I saw the_network and Take a Worm For A Walk Week play in someones basement when I was at university. It was utter carnage

Happyness @ Vauxhall City Farm last year. Beauty of a day.

I saw Darren Hayman on a light vessel. It was one of the coldest gigs I have ever attended in my life.

I saw Jamie T and Good Shoes play on a boat on the Thames back in the day.

Not entirely strange, but saw Mogwai play in Ostia Antica some years back- cool place for a gig as well as being a surreal health and safety nightmare:

Oooh yeah I saw a couple of DJs in the Stubnitz at the ill-fated Bloc in London before the whole thing got shutdown. Real shame because the lineup for it was ace:

Continuing the nautical theme, I saw British Sea Power aboard the Royal Daffodil sailing on the Mersey. According to setlist.com the gig took place exactly 10 years ago to the day!

Amazing!

It’s not that weird, but I remember going to an alldayer with the Fenino folk (@hip_young_gunslinger @epimer @shucks @johnM @thewarn and maybe some others I missed) and seeing Johnny Foreigner play in a corner of this brightly-lit pub whilst old folk were tucking into their gammon, egg and chips at the other table.

On a similar theme, saw This Aint Vegas/The Wow/Kill Yourself tear up (literally) a function room in a Peterborough Pub whilst a meat raffle was going on in the main bar.

LOVED that place.

Also saw Vivian Girls / Male Bonding and Calvin Johnson / Adam Gnade there at other shows.

Had forgotten about Foot Village though. They all just played drums in the middle of the crowd, didn’t they?

Yeah, that’s right.

I wasn’t there or anything but Lisa Hannigan and others have played in Michelstown Cave in Ireland, which, as the name suggests, is a cave…
