Well at least it wasn’t a snick to keeper. Well played James Vince or whoever you are :unamused:

Isn’t Overton a horrible prick or is it someone who sounds like him?

Oh the 90s, you just can’t catch a break, can you?

Okay I’m going to bed.

Very silly cricket.

This England one day team is in good hands. All the upheaval before the series and they win in 3-0. Very impressive stuff.

I think they’d be shown up by a team at the top of their game, but it’s nice to see a bunch of fringe England lads play like the first team and be successful.

I think you’re probably right. Pakistan’s ODI record in England is miserable and they were clearly undercooked here.

That said, there’s no harm in fringe players staking a claim and throwing their hats in the ring, keep those isolating on their toes.

Biased as fuck, obviously, but pleased to see James Vince finally make his mark on the international game - it’s like when Andy Cole broke his international duck against the giants of Albania.

Looks like Lewis Gregory definitely exists

Chris Woakes isn’t in the T20 squad, glad he’s getting a much needed chance to put his feet even further up.

I guess he might have had covid, but the ECB are so determined not to let him play cricket I cna’t give them the benefit of the doubt

Less promising

I’m guessing with Leach also taking 6-43 and Surrey’s rookie SLAer taking 4-20 this Oval track is turning a bit

Yeah, Surrey played three spinners and opened the bowling on day 1 with Ashwin, the spinners combined for 10-97 in Somerset’s innings, and all 10 in Surrey’s 69 all out. Pitch inspector might be sharpening his… pitch inspection tools.

Fairly vital that it will be less of a raging bunsen when we play India there in September.

Just noticed that Somerset could’ve enforced the follow-on but didn’t, they chose to bat again. Don’t understand that

They’ve already qualified for the next stage, and Surrey won’t, so this result doesn’t really matter, maybe they just fancied some batting practice or giving their bowlers a rest?

Oh right, that’s fair enough then, didn’t realise it was a completely dead match. I thought Somerset had to at least draw to be sure of getting through which they definitely would have done by enforcing the follow-on

This new format for county takes a little getting used to, here’s the starting points total for teams that made it to division 1

I don’t understand the logic of dividing by 2

Is it because they only play each team once in the next stage?

In this stage you don’t play the other team from your original group. Just 1 game against the other teams. Then top placed team wins the County Championship, then the top 2 teams play at Lord’s for the Bob Willis Trophy in a five day game.

I assume the games in division 2 and 3 are used for future seeding for next year, but who knows.

The most harrowing shout no I’ve ever heard from Babar Azam there. Nightmare fuel stuff
