I think theyā€™d be shown up by a team at the top of their game, but itā€™s nice to see a bunch of fringe England lads play like the first team and be successful.

I think youā€™re probably right. Pakistanā€™s ODI record in England is miserable and they were clearly undercooked here.

That said, thereā€™s no harm in fringe players staking a claim and throwing their hats in the ring, keep those isolating on their toes.

Biased as fuck, obviously, but pleased to see James Vince finally make his mark on the international game - itā€™s like when Andy Cole broke his international duck against the giants of Albania.

Yeah, Surrey played three spinners and opened the bowling on day 1 with Ashwin, the spinners combined for 10-97 in Somersetā€™s innings, and all 10 in Surreyā€™s 69 all out. Pitch inspector might be sharpening hisā€¦ pitch inspection tools.

In this stage you donā€™t play the other team from your original group. Just 1 game against the other teams. Then top placed team wins the County Championship, then the top 2 teams play at Lordā€™s for the Bob Willis Trophy in a five day game.

I assume the games in division 2 and 3 are used for future seeding for next year, but who knows.
