This. The Hundred is T20, itās the same thing and presumably just a rights dodge. You either like cricket or you donāt, you canāt convince someone to like it based on pretty colours, cities, DJs, fives instead of overs, all that stuff. The problem has been that lots of people have had no way of finding out if they like it, and maybe they will now. The answer to the question āDo you like cricketā is either yes, no or dunno, there have been way too many dunnos.
Having said that, weāve had something like 250 posts in the last few days primarily from Manchester residents/supporters, so maybe there is something in the city stuff.
This is also an interesting point. My son quite often asks āwhoās winningā when Iām watching the cricket and thereās not often a simple answer (although this is part of the appeal to us converted). They do have a win % chance they put up on occasion I suppose. Maybe the D/L par score being rebranded as the āWinning Lineā or something, and being more focal? Dunno. Useless in tests of course, but thatās almost a different sport at this stage.
