I’ve a unexpected day off tomorrow on account of being unable to get home today/tonight due to the floods.

Although I may need to use a rail replacement bus to tomorrow if the trains still aren’t working, so maybe a little bit of dread, actually.

Frangipane is a mixture of butter, eggs, ground almonds, sugar, and usually a small amount of flour.

Here’s a pic of a pear frangipane tart -

@slicky woo!! half term :blush:

Issue with the tart is… I’ve already had one today. Greedy Witch.

do you think Pepsi max would taste as good if it wasn’t black/dark brown?

I do not know (probably?) but I do like Pepsi Max. The pinnacle of diet cola drinks IMHO.

(nothing beats full-fat Coke, but that’s a very occasional treat nowadays. Getting old, gotta fight the middle-aged spread, gotta push for those #bikewanker #marginalgains etc :see_no_evil: )

If you didn’t expect cola to be that colour, I suspect it wouldn’t matter.

Tab Clear was fine.

I don’t really like Pepsi Max but really like Diet Pepsi.

Diet Pepsi is also lovely. In general:

Coke >>> Pepsi
Diet Pepsi / Pepsi Max >>> Diet Coke / Coke Zero

(and yes, now that I think about it, I remember Tab Clear. It was nice)

One of my favourite memories is being out in Paris and this small group of Parisians we’d made mates with advising us on the best place to go that was open. And then going there with them and waking up with friend requests from them on Facebook.

Strikes & no shifts, full week off. Am I gonna spend the whole thing drinking beer in my pants? Darn tooting
