It’s quite a big word in Scotland. A typical Scottish dialogue:

Tam: I’ll get these
Jim: Naw, dont be daft!

Nearly twenty years since 9/11.

Bonkers has always seemed like a teacher word to me. Had loads of teachers describe stuff as bonkers, hardly ever heard it out of my school days.

It’s heavily feminised

I meant for me personally but yeah I guess it’s been pretty dire for most people

Big fan of describing things as bananas lately
Mostly they’re not bananas

probably my privilege but I never noticed that before

Rubbish is a good one that’s fallen out of favour. You can really rev it up on the r to add emphasis

We got the ‘David’s dead’ thing on Big Brother but bugger all aside from that really.

I’m just making that up based on only ever hearing women using it. I think cause it’s a nice/fun way of saying something’s fucking stupid or illogical

seems like there are many ways you could be cool as a kid/teen now, don’t think it was possible to be cool in the 2000s really

I think cause all the kids who were into cool stuff were also really problematic (except from a select few on msn)

Now I bet they’re more mature and aware

Seems like less kids are absolute dickheads now compared to back then.

Have started having an ice lolly after tea every night now. Quite a positive change.

Oh fuck how is it August. Fuuuuuuuck.

Feels like Christmas and all that palaver was about 6 weeks ago. Time is ridiculous at the moment.

I need to find some techniques to start building in some awareness. Like a calendar on the fridge or something. With some things in it that arent just

“Keep free - do work”

Interesting to think about this stuff. Early 90s had stuff like rave culture that was in some ways about subverting societal norms but by the 00s there wasn’t really any kind of large counterculture that I was aware of, just became atomised and people got into weird indie bands that only 5 people at school knew about. Maybe there was a kind of culture but it was just so boring I ignored it.
