Welcome friends,
Let’s make Sunday delicious
Beautiful
I suggested taking advantage of having an apartment rather than a hotel room on Friday night and saving money by getting oven pizzas for dinner rather than going out (the plan was to have a nice brunch somewhere on Saturday morning too) unfortunately the little Tesco’s had very slim pizza pickins and my pizza got burnt cos we didn’t realise how hot the oven was (9 mins and burnt to a crisp!) so I had half Avery’s deep pan and a splodge of surprisingly tasty Mac and cheese.
Then we didn’t even get a nice brunch because of the weather being so abysmal and wet
Someone’s eaten half your breakfast!
Ps. What am I looking at here, black pudding and eggs with crispy onions?
It is interesting plating.
Was Cacklebean Eggs, Hazelnut Dukkah, Chives, Truffled Brown Butter, Crispy Onion, Sourdough to which I added the black pudding. Very tasty, but sourdough toast is forever a pain to cut through.
Not wanting to go outside the station once we’d arrived, and with Grand Central cafe having people queued outside, I decided I’d have to try that Slim Chickens placed I’d glanced at the day before. Our Gnome wasn’t feeling fully fighting fit fresh, and wasn’t sure how much food she wanted, so I did what any sensible person would do and ordered the 5 selects and 5 wings box with large fries. Didn’t read the menu properly, so was pleasantly surprised by The additional Texas toast. I thought it was going to be too much food, but was glad to have it to pick at while we waited on the train after it hit a tree.
Bought one of these ‘expresso’ coffees I’ve heard so much about. It’s tiny!
Used to use slim chicken as a horror story character for a kid I tutored (who asked!), telling him that slim chicken will come into his house at night through the cracks, he loved it
Now realise it was just a flat stanley rip off story
Ha, flat Stanley, that’s a blast from the past
Bagel place is shut so I’m having a foccacia, a San pelly, and another ‘expresso’ at Bragazzi’s
