Have spent the week building up to doing Szechuan for the first time ever tonight. Bought all new ingredients specially, and under-ate throughout the day in anticipation.
Had a a amazing time cooking, then dished up what can only reasonably be described as the worst bowl of hell a human has ever presented. It tasted like if you filled your mouth with flowers, salt and a bar of Imperial Leather all at the same time. Just utterly vile.
Something has clearly gone wrong but have been back through the recipe in detail and am pretty sure it wasnβt me.
Absolutely fuming here, and the taste simply wonβt leave my mouth.
